Clock hours meeting the STEM certificate renewal requirement are now available from the WEA at no cost. Find out more and register for STEM courses: https://www.washingtonea.org/pd/stem-certificate-renewal-requirement/.

Teachers with STEM related endorsements are required to complete 15 clock hours or the equivalent for certificate renewal. WEA is offering this professional learning as part of the Inclusionary Practices Project (IPP). Courses are available real time through Zoom, as well as asynchronously through Canvas. A few of the courses available:

  • Computer Science for Special Populations (STEM). Monday, January 24; Tuesday, January 25

  • The Attuned K-12 Educator: Accelerating Literacy (Not a STEM course). Monday, Jan 24.; Thursday, January 26. Register.

  • STEM Integration and Inclusionary Practices (STEM). Thursdays: January 27; February 3; February 10; February 17

  • Unpacking Standards to Reach ALL Students in the Math Classroom (STEM). Tuesday, February 8; Wednesday, February 9

  • STEM in Sports: Using Sports for STEM Learning in the Classroom (STEM). Friday, February 25; Monday, February 28, 2021; Friday, March 4; Monday, March 7; Friday, March 11.

  • Many STEM related asynchronous courses: Educators can complete these on a flexible basis on their own time.
