Take action NOW for K-12 educator COLAs

As educators we’re rising to the challenge of meeting our students’ needs from early learning to higher education with creativity, flexibility, and dedication, regardless of what the pandemic brings.  But our schools are facing critical staffing shortages that at times interrupt teaching and learning and making a tough time even worse.  To address these issues, lawmakers must fund adequate Cost of Living Adjustments (COLAs) that help compensation keep pace with inflation so we can recruit and retain enough educators.

While the House's proposed supplemental operating budget includes adequate COLAs, the Senate's doesn't.  We need lawmakers to know that only the House's COLA funding will begin to address staffing shortages.

Lawmakers need to hear from all of us – take action NOW to tell your lawmakers to fully fund adequate COLAs.
